Hello,
I’ve just prepared my first litre of Fomadon Excel (freshly bought). After dissolving the first sachet (labelled ‘small’), the solution was the colour
of medium-strength tea; after dissolving the second sachet, the solution became mostly clear. Is this normal, or is the first sachet perhaps no longer fit for use?
I’ve heard that Excel is very similar to Xtol, so perhaps an Xtol user could also provide some information.
Many thanks
Ulf

Hello,
With Xtol, you’ll also notice a yellow tinge in the first component, which disappears when you add Part 2. So everything’s fine.
Otherwise, just to be on the safe side, carry out a test development.

Hello again,
Thanks for the quick reply. It took a few days before I could develop a test film.
I don’t have a direct comparison, but there’s no sign of underdevelopment. When pouring it in, and also after
development, the developer was completely clear.
When I first mixed it, however, the colour was definitely more brown than yellow. It looked really strange for a fresh film developer. But as I said,
it seems to be normal.
Best regards,
Ulf
