The Wetplate Weekend offers an introduction to the wonderful world of wet plate photography, also known as ambrotype.

David Puntel demonstrates the technique at Berlin’s only skylight studio, set amidst a garden. Working with natural light not only produces more pleasing image tones, but also allows participants to master the practical challenges of exposure control. Participants will learn all the steps of the wet plate technique, working with various cameras, different formats (4x5"/5x7"/8x10") and historical lenses, with which they will capture their impressions on unique ambrotypes.

This intensive course is also suitable for beginners with no prior photographic experience and is limited to 4 participants. Drinks and all materials required to produce approx. 10 wet plates, which participants can take home with them, are included in the price.
