Having developed my films by hand for over 30 years, I decided to buy the Heiland processor. It was a very good purchase. I’d already seen it at a Photokina, but the price had put me off at first. The thing is simply brilliant and it’s actually fun to work with. Now I can experiment with times and dilutions I would never have used before. I don’t want to go into technical details here – it’s all on the Heiland website – but anyone who develops more than just the odd film now and then should consider this purchase. As for the price, it’s certainly no bargain, but anyone familiar with the cost of small-batch mechanical engineering will know that this is a device well worth the money, offering excellent value for money. This machine is mechanical engineering at its best and, with the Heiland control system, is in a class of its own.
