Re 1) Of course, development depends on exposure and subject contrast. But assuming you have a subject with normal contrast and expose at nominal sensitivity, does the negative contrast then correspond to the margin exposure contrast, or not?
Printing with white light means without a filter in the drawer and all colours on the colour mixing head set to 0.
