Hello,
Do you know yet when the new Portra 400 will be available? I was hoping to stock up on this film for my winter holiday. However, if it won’t be available until the end of December or even the new year, I’ll probably have to look for an alternative.

Here is the official announcement from Kodak:
Dear Sir or Madam,
As previously announced at Photokina 2010 and in various media outlets, there is a new Portra film,
the KODAK Professional PORTRA 400
This film will be available in 35mm, 120, 220, 4x5" formats and, in a further phase in early 2011, also as
8x10" film.
The full range will be available from around late November/early December. Some formats may be available slightly earlier.
The finest-grain colour negative film
Beautiful and natural skin tones
Optimised sharpness
Excellent colour reproduction
To make way for this, we will be withdrawing the Portra 400 NC and Portra 400 VC films from the market; this is planned
for around the end of December. However, due to stock-up orders, it is possible that one or two
cat. no. may no longer be available before then. It is not possible to determine the exact timing.
Please find attached the relevant cat. nos. and the recommended alternative packaging unit.
Should you have any questions regarding this – before any confusion arises for the end consumer –
please do get in touch with me, your distributor and/or your purchasing group.
