TeeGee Selling a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens in mint condition, including the matching original ES 62 lens hood. I bought the lens new in 2003 but have used it very little, so I can confidently describe it as being in mint condition. It is in excellent condition and works perfectly. I am only selling it because I want to switch to the 1.4 version. Forum special price: €90 (plus postage as required) SOLD!

TeeGee Firstly, I didn’t sign up here to sell anything. The fact that this was my first post here is just a coincidence. Secondly, I haven’t actually found a marketplace here, though I have seen other sales threads on the same forum. Thirdly, you said you didn’t want to discuss the price, yet here you are doing just that, which gives me the impression that you were only trying to drive it down. That’s the usual trick, isn’t it? If you’re not interested in the item, then just hold back. Everyone here can make up their own mind. Fourthly, the lens will certainly be listed on eBay soon if no one shows interest in the various forums; I have absolutely no problem with that.
bernhardmangelsgmxde So it’s just a coincidence… well, that may well be the case, but my first impression was certainly this: Just signed up to the forum (5 days ago), first post straight away is a sales ad; then a ‘friendly price’ that didn’t really strike me as friendly at all – quite the opposite, in fact. (Especially as I bought the same lens new for less; well, I must have missed the ‘Geli’ bit). As I’ve seen this sort of thing (i.e. signing up to a forum to sell bits and bobs at a relatively high price and then presenting it as an act of friendship) quite often... and I don’t consider that particularly ‘good form’, I decided to speak up here. It may be that I was a bit hasty. If I’ve done you an injustice, then I’m sorry. But as for wanting to drive the price down... what on earth would I want with a second yoghurt pot?
cfb_de What on earth am I supposed to do with a second yoghurt pot?To stick a spoon in and eat it out. Best regards, Franz
bernhardmangelsgmxde Yoghurt potis a more or less common ‘nickname’ for the EF 1.8 50mm, alluding to its lightweight construction.
