G’day mate, I used it for repros once. A49 1+2 20° 7.5 mins N+1, ISO16. 10 mins just under N+2, ISO20. Very fine grain, though that was irrelevant for the repros. I wasn’t aiming for normal contrast. The curve I measured back then shows the highlights only starting to flatten out from Zone VIII (!), but there’s still plenty of rise beyond Zone X; however, I didn’t try to see if densities of 1.8 logD could be increased any further. The film doesn’t seem to suffer from a lack of silver... The curve also rises just as steeply at the bottom, so you should be able to get life in the shadows without any trouble. Looking at this, I’m really in the mood to have a play around with it! Always good light Frank

Hello, I used Rollei Ortho 25 roll film, which, as far as I know, is identical to ADOX. I developed it for 7 minutes in ATM49 at a dilution of 1+3 (yes, you read that right!). I exposed it quite normally at 25 ASA, as accurately as the light meter on my Pentacon Six would allow :rolleyes: The result scanned and enlarged very well, though the contrast achieved is likely too low for a mixed-light enlarger. Overall, I was amazed at how ‘normal’ this film is to process. The sharpness is excellent, and there is practically no grain.

Hello, I started testing the Ortho 25 last year (but didn’t finish due to a lack of film). So far, I’ve only determined the speed. In Rodinal 1:50 for 6 minutes at 20°C, it has a speed of 12 ASA. In Xtol 1:1 for 8 minutes at 20°C, it has a speed of 25 ASA. Best regards, Wolfgang

Hello everyone, I can’t seem to find the Ortho 25 in the shop anymore. Has the film been discontinued? I think that’s a real shame, as I’m currently in the process of fine-tuning my reversal processing with it. Best regards, Martin

Hi Martin, That would be a real shame. If it’s not too rude or damaging to business: Macodirect still lists Rollei Ortho 25 in 120 format. The host has it in 135 format. I don’t know if it’s actually the same film, but the specifications look very similar. Black-and-white slides with Ortho 25 sounds incredibly promising – good luck with it, and do let us know if you have any success! May the light be with you Frank
