Hello everyone, Since yesterday evening, I’ve had a Durst Laborator 1200 with a CLS 450 head and a Femobox 450. It comes with a 150mm lens. Now my question: the lens plates from my Durst 605 fit, and so does my 50mm lens. Will this work straight away, or do I need a different mixing box? Is it possible to enlarge 35mm negatives with the 150mm lens? And does anyone happen to have a user manual? Thanks for your help! Best regards, Steffen

You can enlarge 35mm film using the 4x5" mixing box, but the light output is modest, as the light provided by the halogen lamp is spread over an area larger than 4x5". From 30x40cm upwards, at f/8 you’ll quickly exceed 60 seconds, which is a bit fiddly with my timer as I have to set two timers running one after the other. Sure, you could work with the 150mm, but your maximum enlargement size would then be (depending on ceiling height :-) under 24x30 cm, and the light output wouldn’t improve either. So use the 50mm and just put up with the exposure times for now. A 35mm mixing box is hard to come by, but every now and then you can find one on eBay.
