I developed this film in ACUFINE 1+3 (using a JOBO ATL 500 rotary processor) and exposed it at a speed of 80 ASA... the grain is incredibly fine; at 30x40 it’s almost invisible... the film does tend to curl a little... you have to watch out for that, but otherwise it really is an alternative to the APX 25... and considerably faster too.....

I also tested the film with Neofin Blaue... surprising grain and not competitive

Do you also share your settings for this – dilution*, time, agitation rate and temperature? Martin * By dilution, I mean how much working solution the vial is filled with.

As I said before: spin cycle in the machine - at 20 degrees Acufine dilution 1:3 – 11 mins Neofin 1:20 for 6 mins

I’ve now performed the exposure on the Acros at 200 ISO and developed it in Acufine 1+3.... It clearly outperforms the ADOX in terms of grain and grey-scale gradation.... which means my choice remains the Neopan 100 Acros... and only if you use the APX or Rollei Retro as your standard film is the ADOX 50 worth it as a film with fine grain,

Ah, I’d completely missed the bit about rotation. In that case, it’s pointless for me anyway; I still develop by hand (and that’s why I’m so wary of Tetenal’s 3-second cycle – it’s hard on the wrist) Thanks anyway, Martin

Hi Martin, Well then, try doing that with 5 KB films in a 22xx canister. That takes just over 2 litres of chemicals... A gym membership is a waste of money – you can do it all at home :) Best regards, Franz, who’s got something similar to do in the next few days)
