I’ve had two Printo rollers (squeeze rollers) reconditioned because mine were sticking badly and it was no longer possible to use them properly. I’m going to test them now, but only with black-and-white chemicals, and if they work well, I’ll write a bit more about it so that Printo owners know where they can have these rollers reconditioned. The price for the reconditioning seems reasonable to me, as Durst no longer offers this service. The images stuck too often, and then everything had to be taken apart again; I’m sure I’m not the only user who’s had this problem.

Hello,
I could also provide a source for new rollers; I believe this is the original manufacturer:
GTK - Timek Group SA
www.gtk.ch
The prices there were reasonable too.

Over the weekend, I tried the reconditioned Printo rollers in my Printo. They worked perfectly without any photos sticking. I ran through about 50 photos (18×24). The Printo rollers were reconditioned by Thermaphot in Nuremberg. Mr Kämmerl is very helpful and knowledgeable. He’s the best person to contact. It’s the last two rollers, where the paper exits the rack, that need refurbishing. The others don’t cause any problems. Printo owners know how to remove them, but make sure to keep the parts, springs and screws safe. I sent my rollers to other companies for a look, but none of them could help. They are simply too small for standard grinding machines. They also need to be ground after coating. There may well be a manufacturer in Switzerland, but then there’s the whole customs drama with the Swiss. I hope I’ve been able to help Printo owners a little.
