Hi,
Up until now, I’ve always used ADOX CHM 400 (= Ilford HP5) for my 400-speed film. Now, after testing it all out, I’ve realised that this film isn’t even available anymore… neither the CHM 400 nor the HP5 itself! (pff...)
But there’s a new, affordable 400-speed film on the market again…the LegacyPro 400. As the development times are the same as for Neopan 400, I wanted to ask whether this is another direct replica of the Neopan. Basically, whether I can expect exactly the same characteristics (tonal range, sharpness, grain, etc.).
If so, I’d give this film a go...
Cheers

Hi Andy,
Apart from the "name", Legacy 400 and Fuji Neopan 400 Pro are identical. The Legacy packaging essentially contains a Fuji film; in other words, all the characteristics and processing methods are the same.
Incidentally, this only affects Fuji roll film users, as the 400 roll film will soon be discontinued; production is being phased out. However, it looks like 35mm users needn’t worry, as this version will continue to be produced.
Best regards,
Lothar

Hi Andi,
Zensua has already covered everything regarding Neopan; I just wanted to quickly clarify that we do, of course, stock the HP5.
We also highly recommend it as an alternative to the CHM 400.
Best regards,
Mirko
