Hello everyone,
Things are now taking shape: the fineartforum Paderborn is slowly coming together! Dates: 5–6 June 2010
Anyone who attended the forums in Braunfels will already have a rough idea of what we have in mind.
We want to bring together as much of the analogue black and white scene as possible to foster personal connections, encourage the exchange of ideas, and (perhaps) take photographs together.
Analogue black and white photographs will be exhibited, and many photographers will be on hand to talk about their working methods.
A series of talks will address and reflect on the current and pressing issues of this period of photographic upheaval.
Workshops will be held to teach practical photography skills.
Several well-known manufacturers will be presenting their products.
We are endeavouring to organise all of this without visitors incurring any costs for admission or participation in the planned events.
However, this will only work if as many people as possible support this idea and actively help out. It is important that as many people as possible attend!
Therefore, a request to everyone who views our project in a positive light: please help spread the word!
If you are registered on other forums: please mention this event!
Inform retailers, manufacturers, photography groups...
Establish contacts with other interested parties – and perhaps even organise carpooling arrangements.
We want to give analogue black and white photography a new boost! We are investing a great deal of time and effort into the fineartforum project.
For this reason, we would be delighted to receive (positive) feedback – but constructive criticism is also welcome!
Have we forgotten or overlooked anything important? Is there anything we can do better? We are grateful for any suggestions!
The programme is still a work in progress – further information will be available at www.fineartforum.info!
With that in mind: see you there!
Warm regards from Paderborn

Thank you, EJG, for pointing that out!
I made a small mistake – but I hope the link works now?
We would love to showcase active photographers and their own black-and-white prints at the fineartforum Paderborn. If you’d like to display your own work and perhaps say a few words to visitors about it, please get in touch with me at short notice.
Thanks and best regards
Klaus

Hello Klaus, this really is something to look forward to!
I’ll definitely be taking part!
Even if I might not be able to come in person, I’ll definitely send some photos.
It’s great that you’re creating this kind of platform for analogue photography.
Looking at specific works and specific images is the ideal complement to a forum like this.
Best regards and good luck!
See you soon: Stefan

Hello everyone!
Good news about the fineartforum Paderborn: the first draft of our programme is ready – and can be found on our
website.
There’s quite a lot going on, so we’ll have to work hard to fit it all into two days.
As for the workshops, it’s already becoming clear that there will be more people interested than there are places available – so
some form of registration by name will be required.
Warm regards from Paderborn

Things are moving forward!
We have now finalised the arrangements for the exhibition and presentation of photographs at the fineartforum.
The terms and conditions are now available on our website.
So, if you’d like to take part in the fineartforum in Paderborn with your own photographs, please get in touch with us at short notice – no formalities required.
I hope to see plenty of interest from this forum!
Best regards,
Klaus

Hello everyone,
There is very high demand for our packed exhibition – around half of the exhibition space is already fully booked.
There are still opportunities to take part in the exhibition. It really is a rare chance to showcase your own photographs to such a knowledgeable audience – and completely free of charge.
As we are specifically targeting art lovers and collectors, this will certainly also provide an opportunity to make personal contact with potential buyers.
Make the most of this opportunity!
Warm regards from Paderborn

My tip for Easter!
Make the most of the good weather to take photos—
and use the rest of the time to go through your portfolios!
I know there are some absolutely brilliant black and white photographs lying dormant everywhere, just waiting to be shown, viewed, discussed and admired!
There’s no better opportunity for this than at the fineartforum in Paderborn on 5 and 6 June 2010.
Warm regards,
Klaus

Hello everyone,
The time has finally come – the programme for the first fineartforum Paderborn is now available on our website.
We’ll be adding more details bit by bit – there may still be a few minor changes.
Has all our hard work paid off? I hope so – but that’s for you to decide!
Over 10 companies are taking part; there will be several workshops and talks every day, as well as permanent exhibitions and changing presentations.
And it’s all free! Some companies are supporting the workshops by providing materials.
A trip to Paderborn will certainly be worth it.
See you there!
Warm regards,
Klaus

Dear photography enthusiasts,
Our organisational preparations are now almost complete – though we still have a lot of work ahead of us in setting up the event.
This is a good opportunity to take stock: we’ve had a positive response from the press and the public, capacity has been almost fully utilised, and we’ve received plenty of praise for our high-quality programme.
None of this would have been possible without the many volunteers. A very heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped out and to everyone who took an active part!
For those who would still like to get involved: slots for a presentation are still available for Sunday afternoon. There are still places available for some workshops.
Details on our website www.fineartforum.de
I am now looking forward to 5 and 6 June and would be delighted to meet many of you from this forum in person!
With warmest regards
Klaus

Just a quick update, as the APX 400 is proving to be a topic of widespread interest after all.
Mirko had mentioned that he would be bringing some test films to Paderborn.
The boss is still punching the perforations himself...
The film is sure to be a talking point at the faf.
Warm regards from Paderborn

It would be great if you could report back here afterwards. I’m now quite obsessed with the subject (no, I don’t want any test films :D ) and am looking forward to the future with great anticipation – also with regard to the (hopefully) expected 100-metre roll.
Ciao!

At the moment, it’s purely a question of time.
Preparing the faf is taking up all my time.
As soon as I’ve got a bit more breathing space, I’ll post some more reviews. But that will take a bit of time too.
Best regards,
Klaus

We’re really looking forward to it!

So, the first fineartforum is now history.
A summary and a few photos will be available on our website shortly.
To everyone who joined us in Paderborn: a huge thank you for coming!
We had a lot of fun – though it was also a lot of work. But it was well worth it!
After the faf is before the faf: will there be a second fineartforum Paderborn? We’re thinking about it.
Warm regards from Paderborn
