I’m looking for gold chloride or a gold chloride solution for albumen prints from wet plate negatives. For some reason, it doesn’t seem to be available in Germany at a reasonable price. Do you have any idea where I might be able to get some? I’ve already asked Moersch, but they haven’t replied :-(

Have you tried asking Koehlerchemie or Th. Geyer? Generally speaking, it’s difficult and often expensive for private individuals to purchase fine chemicals. And with gold(III) chloride, you can expect a high price on top of that, as half of the mass is gold, which isn’t exactly cheap.
The cheapest price I’m aware of is $27 per gramme plus VAT, customs duty and EU tax, though this is subject to a minimum order of 50g and is only available to commercial trading partners.
