Dear analogue photography enthusiasts,
On my last trip to the Himalayas, in addition to my ‘main camera’ loaded with transparency film, I took a second camera body with Ilford Delta 100s, which I exposed at ISO 100. I used a circular polarising filter for almost all shots; for unclear subjects (sky too dark, etc.), I took several shots with the same filter at different settings.
Up to now, I have used either Tetenal Emofin (exclusively for available light / push) or Tetenal Ultrafin SF (all other shooting situations) as my black-and-white developer.
Originally, I had intended to develop the films in Ultrafin SF again, but given the sometimes extreme contrasts between snow/glaciers and, in some cases, an almost black-blue sky, I’m wondering whether this choice makes sense!?
So here’s my question to you: should I stick with Ultrafin SF, and if so, what should I bear in mind during development (develop for a shorter time)? Or would it be better to use a different developer for these negatives?
I’d really appreciate any tips and suggestions soon!
Best regards,
diekuhmachtmuh!
