Hello lab pros B)
I have two medium-format negatives with extremely low contrast that I really
want to print.
I scanned them in Photoshop, tweaked the grey levels a bit,
then converted them to RGB, tweaked them some more, and the result
is actually quite usable. Both come out very well as lambda prints.
As I now want to enlarge both negatives onto baryta paper, I’m starting by testing with
PE (RC311+MCP310) and just can’t get it right. Gradient already set to 5
(Kaiser M150-180 colour head), 25 seconds exposure at f/5.6
is the best result so far, but not good enough and still relatively flat.
Developers: Dokumol and Adotol, both already mixed very strong.
Am I doing something wrong, or is there a trick, or a specific developer
for cases like this?
I’d really appreciate any advice.
Regards
Marc
PS... extreme gradient, such as inserting a Filter 5 and mixing in magenta, doesn’t work
at all (with either paper)....
