Hello technical experts,
My M 645 1000S with AE Finder displays the exposure by approximately 1.5 stops incorrectly. In other words, if 1/500 is measured at f/5.6 (I’ll specify this later), the internal meter displays 1/500, but the aperture ring is set between f/2.8 and f/4. The battery is fine. By ‘aperture and exposure measured’, I mean that I’ve carried out comparative measurements on an optical bench using other cameras (Hasselblad 500C/M with TTL prism, P6TL with TTL prism) and a Gossen meter.
Has anyone else had a similar problem and knows of a simple solution, or do I need to work my way through the repair and adjustment instructions (which I have)?
Thanks for your input
Regards
Herbert

Hello Herbert,
Unfortunately, I don’t know of a simple solution either, and Mamiya wants around €160 for the adjustment. So I’d be interested in a copy of these repair and adjustment instructions – not for free, of course!
Best regards,
Clemens

Hello Herbert.
A thousand thanks again!!!!
You’re a real gem.
The instructions went down a treat.
I hope I’ll be able to show my appreciation in some other way one day.
Best wishes from Berthold in the Sauerland
PS.
The photo books are definitely coming your way.

Hello Herbert

I wonder if this helps? I started using my Mamiya M 645 1000S more regularly again over the summer. But first, I swapped the focusing screen for a very bright one. Since then, I’ve needed a correction of 3DIN. Could that be the case for you too, that a brighter focusing screen has been fitted? The exposure metering has remained unchanged to this day. So it seems to be normal.
