Good evening, I’d like to print larger formats and would need to move the enlarger into another room to do so. Would paper safes be suitable for transporting the exposed prints from the room to the kitchen? Or are there any other ideas? Many thanks and best regards Marc PS... off topic... do ADOX 120 films really have to be stuck together so tightly? Especially when it gets cold, you end up fiddling around for ages with cold fingers until the tab comes off ;-)

Hi Marc, A paper safe would do the job. A cheaper option is the light-proof black plastic bag that the photographic paper comes in. Best regards, Andreas

Hi Marc, Could you define ‘larger formats’? Basically, anything that’s light-tight and allows the sheet to be transported without creases or folds will do. Whether it’s a paper safe or a bag, the main issue with all of them will be sealing them and keeping them sealed. Regards, Stähane.

Hello Stephane, The sizes are 70x70 and 70x90. As I can’t find any paper safes or similar items in these sizes, I’ve taped several black bin bags together; it’s a bit fiddly, but it works quite well. (Seal with gaffer tape) As there don’t seem to be any bowls in this size either (haven’t found any), I’m making do with those black concrete mixing bowls from the DIY store, though unfortunately their rims are very high. Hi Marc, Just take a roof batten and build a rectangle slightly larger than the paper, place it on the table or floor, cover it with a waterproof sheet, and your oversized tray is ready. Best regards, Wolfgang

Great idea, Wolfgang!! Does anyone perhaps have any tips on where I can get oversized paper? (e.g. 120x120cm) Thanks Marc

Hi Marc, It’s not 120cm wide, but for example here in the host’s shop they have baryta and RC paper on rolls, 10m long, 102cm or 105cm wide. Just search for “rolls” in the shop. Regards Michael Laun

Hello! Pop into a photocopying shop! They have light-tight ‘tubes’ (a bit like condoms! ;) ) made of black plastic in large sizes for carbonless paper – and they’ve got so many of them that they’ll definitely be happy to part with a few. Best wishes, CP
