Hi, I’ve found a photo developing kit in the garage. The box is red with white lettering: ‘Revue Photo Developing Kit Order No. 2040’. I can’t dig the box out right now as it’s buried under a pile of other junk ;) Can anyone tell me what’s in it? Thanks! Hugo

Hello Hugo! Well, if it says ‘Revue Photo Lab’ on it, it’s certainly not part of the current Quelle insolvency estate! But I also doubt that there are any tangible packing lists for it left. What makes me doubt this is the fact that your curiosity about the contents isn’t obviously strong enough to ‘blow away’ the junk on top of it. What a shame! Best regards, Stefan

Well, what could possibly be in there... I imagine it’s a set for black-and-white film development – perhaps developing trays, a developing tank, tongs, a thermometer, a Duka lamp, maybe some photographic paper, and possibly a few chemicals (developer, fixer, etc.). So, everything you’d need for black-and-white development. The chemicals and paper are probably already gone off.... As for there being an enlarger in there, I doubt it.... It’s unlikely to be for colour development; that was really something for specialists.... It must be at least 20 years ago that Quelle used to stock photo lab supplies, surely...? I used to buy things there back then, mainly photographic paper... But I’m now curious to see what else comes out of this ‘surprise bag’.... Regards Wolfgang

Hello Hugo, Revue / Quelle used to sell a photo lab kit containing: - 3 plastic bottles for chemicals - A thermometer - 3 20x30 cm trays - A red light bulb (E27) - One packet each of paper developer, stop bath and fixer, all in powder form. - A canister for 2 35mm or 1x 120 films - A 35mm or 6x6 enlarger. The 35mm enlarger can be a Dunco with a colour or Vario head. Or with an opal lamp and filter sheets. Best regards, Stähane
