Hello!!
I’ve just bought a Beseler, specifically this one: Beseler 23C II dual dichro S
It comes with a 6x6 mask, which is what I need, but I’d also like a 35mm mask.
I’ve now found one on eBay called the Beseler Megatrans Negative Stage. Am I right in thinking there’s a typo and it should actually be called Negatrans?? Would that fit in my enlarger?
Now for a general question:
Can I perform exposure on fixed-gradation paper using a colour head with all the colour filters removed? Or are there any restrictions?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Niko

Density. Paper: In principle, you can use all the filters, or just a few of them... it only affects the exposure time.

Depending on the model series, the Negatrans fits the 23C and the 45 MX. However, the rubber belts have usually become brittle by now.
We probably still have some spare belts in stock, though.
The flatness isn’t great, but it’s quick and easy to fit.

Thanks so much!
Would you recommend the Negtrans or the standard NegativBühne with the two wings on either side?
Best wishes!

If this is your first stage, then definitely go for the standard one or a 6x9 glass stage.
You need to be able to take perfect images of all films, after all.
The Negatrans fails with films that curl.
I think we still have some glass stages in stock as well.
How do the fans on your Dual Dichro look?
Is anything wobbling yet?

Hi Mirko,
It’s great that someone here has a plan for all this ;) Thanks!
What other stages do you have in stock? And how much do they cost?
Is there anything else I should be aware of, or might I need a spare part?
If I were to get the 6x9 glass stage, does it have sliders so I can make it smaller, or how exactly do you do that? Do the images you project also have wheels that don’t have any sharpness?
My fan on the head is a white fan blade without cooling. I can move the fan itself 1mm forwards and backwards on its shaft. Otherwise, nothing wobbles there. Perhaps you could tell me in more detail where it might be wobbling.
Do you actually have a transformer for your Beseler to step down the 110V? Or how else do you manage that?
Thanks in advance =)
