I need some help from a real expert on the Jobo Processor, specifically the CPP2.
I’ve had a second-hand CPP2 for a while now, and everything’s working perfectly from a technical point of view.
I’ve now decided to develop my first roll of film in the processor using a brand-new RO-Tank 4322, but I’m facing a few problems.
1. When I load the film spools directly onto the spool holder (without the ‘extensions’), the spools are still a little too deep to guide the tank without it wobbling. You’re supposed to use the ring on the can on the spool holder’s spools, aren’t you?
2. When I try to dock the can, there’s a gap between the magnet on the axle and the can. Either the central guide on the motor shaft is somehow too long, or the hole in the can isn’t deep enough. If I hang a second magnetic ring in between, the guide through the pin is missing and the can slips downwards with every rotation due to the difference in height (see point 1)... it wobbles.
What am I doing wrong?
Is the red tray perhaps mounted too low?
It’s hanging from the control unit housing below the plastic edge... is that normal?
Does it need to rest on the plastic edge?
I’d really appreciate it if someone with a bit of experience and knowledge could shed some light on this :))
I’m no beginner when it comes to the lab, but I’m definitely a CPP2 beginner.

Re 2: Yes, that’s normal; I’ve had the same issue, but I only have the CPE.

Hi.
Normally, the can itself rests on the support, not the ring. You’d need two pins at the front of the machine to adjust it, and another one further back for an additional support. The rear supports are for the 2500-series cans; the front supports are for the 1500-series. I can’t say off the top of my head whether the old RO cans are compatible. In terms of the coupling, they should actually be. Otherwise, just give Jobo a call.
