Hello, I’ve managed to get hold of an 80 mm f/4.5 enlarger lens at a bargain price. It’s in perfect condition, but it doesn’t fit my Durst M 605 enlarger. That one has a 50 mm Nikon lens, but it’s not ideal for 6×6 format, as the corners aren’t uniformly bright and aren’t as sharp. So I wanted to get an 80 mm lens to be able to reproduce medium format images perfectly. However, I can’t get the Nikon lens out of its mount, and the new lens doesn’t look like the Nikon in terms of size and thread. I think I have a Meopta 80/4.5 with a 23.5 mm thread, and the enlarger has a mount for 39 mm lenses. Is there an adapter I can use to fit the small 80 mm lens onto the enlarger? I’m still a bit of a novice when it comes to enlarger lenses. Many thanks joram

Hello Joram, That’s possible. You’ll need a Siriopla (though the Siriotub from the 50mm will do as well) and an M23.5–M39 threaded adapter. Hopefully you can still get one here from the host; otherwise, take the circuit board and lens (to check the thread pitch) to the nearest precision engineer. The original Meopta adapter has a small set screw, so it doesn’t get stuck in the circuit board but instead grips onto the lens. Best regards, Franz

Hi Joram, That’s exactly what I wrote: “the Siriotub works too”. That’s precisely the one you should already have if you’ve managed to zoom in successfully with the 50mm lens. You won’t have to search for long; the order number ME239 here should be exactly what you need. Give them a call and ask. Best regards, Franz
