Dear community,
I am the proud owner of a Flexaret VI witha Metax Belar lens.
I had to clean this lens yesterday because the old oil had caused everything to stick, and the shutter was no longer closing properly. I’ve now put everything back together using the photos I took whilst taking it apart, and I’ve realised that two springs are left over.
They aren’t visible in the photos, and there are only about three images online showing the inside of the lens, but they’re no use either...
Can anyone here help me? Whether with instructions, photos, or even by me sending all the parts over and having them reassembled: the main thing is that this camera works again!
Attached you’ll find pictures of the two springs and the lens, in case that helps...
Many thanks in advance,
Phil

I can’t offer a solution for your specific case, but as a tip for similar projects, I’d recommend not taking such parts apart, but simply soaking them in white spirit and adjusting them slightly from time to time whilst they’re soaking. After 24 hours at the latest, everything should be running smoothly again. Re-oiling is usually not necessary, as the parts have already been worn in to fit together mechanically through use.

I’ve got a broken Flexaret; I could sell it to you for €10.

What are you trying to put together with a lens?
A lens is a lens, is a lens, is a lens...
I think you’re trying to put together a shutter.
Everything has a name – a bird isn’t a frog :P

No offence,
