Hello everyone,
Whilst looking for RA-4 chemicals, I came across the ADOX RA-4 Kit. Does anyone have any experience of using it for processing in a continuous-flow developer? (A modified RCP 20) The processing time per bath is 65 seconds – can this be achieved by adjusting the temperature? (Lower than 38 degrees?) What about the shelf life of the prepared solution? (Light-proof bottles with Protectan)
Many thanks in advance

Hi Jörg,
I ran the kit with an RCP (grey). However, as I could adjust the temperature and speed, I can’t quite remember exactly which settings I ended up using.
But there were no issues. 38 degrees, give or take two degrees, and the speed set somewhere in the middle.
The shelf life wasn’t any worse than other chemicals, provided you don’t keep dissolving the solution in the machine.
If you do, that’s fine too, provided the machine draws enough replenisher (in simpler terms: when it’s in use).
Once drained and treated with Protect(an)ion, the solution will keep for several weeks even without ‘refreshing’.
Regards,
Mirko
PS The RA-4 chemistry comes from a major green manufacturer of RA-4 chemistry and is in active use in thousands of Frontier minilabs.

Hi Mirko,
Unfortunately, on my RCP, I can only adjust the temperature.
So far, I’ve only developed in the tray using Duliprint, and adding 5 seconds didn’t make any difference there (not for me, anyway). I also reckon that a 2-degree increase or decrease and 5 seconds longer doesn’t really make any difference. I just wasn’t entirely sure.
Best regards
