When we started planning our workshop 10 years ago, we were in awe of the fact that this former laundry was SO BIG that we, as a small Berlin shop at the time, would NEVER be able to make full use of it all:

But our confidence began to wane as soon as the first lorries arrived in 2006 to unload Agfa machinery, and when the Hungarian lorries started honking their horns outside the gates, we started to feel a bit queasy; shortly afterwards, the doors could barely be closed.

That’s how things have remained up to now, because in Brandenburg, everything to do with planning law moves at a snail’s pace. We’ve also got this mock-up of an airport that I drive past every day, which is always cheerfully flashing – probably a little hopeful flash for every thousand euros of taxpayers’ money that’s been wasted :-)
So, in our case, things dragged on for about 2×5 years (five-year plans?) until two small piles finally emerged:
?
-First, a so-called land-use plan (2010)
-Then a so-called development plan (2017)
?
In effect, this means that we’re now not just a mini-factory but also a bona fide mini-industrial estate.
And that, in turn, means: we’re now allowed to expand. Yippee!
?
Well, we’d actually been expecting this all along and had already been working on the plans over the last few years, so we can get started straight away.
?
We hope to have the shell of the building finished by summer and to be able to carry out the interior fit-out in autumn and winter.
