Hello everyone, ? Having tried the C41 process at room temperature (with significantly longer development times) and obtained perfect negatives (at least for me), I’m wondering whether this might also work with E6? After all, the manuals for C41 do list development times for different temperatures. I find it hard to believe that it isn’t possible to carry out the E6 process at lower temperatures (at least 30°C) with adjusted development times? Unfortunately, I can’t find anything about this online. Does anyone here have any experience with this, or am I just wishful thinking? Thanks! ? Best regards, Max

...that’s not likely to work so easily. With C-41, you can still compensate for a colour cast to a certain extent using filters during the positive process – you don’t have that option with E6 – so a colour cast remains a colour cast...

I’d start with the primary developer at 30°C for 12 minutes 30 seconds. The colour developing agent for 10 minutes. € The following applies:

no extension (1–4 films) 12'30''
first extension (5–8 films) 13'00''
second extension (9–12 films) 13'45''

Hi Max, That’s fine; that used to be my method with raw chemicals, all at 20°C: FD 21 mins rotation Stop bath 1 min 5% acetic acid Washing 4 x 1 min Second exposure CD 30 mins rotation (increase time if black density is too low) Stop bath 1 min 5% acetic acid Washing 4 x 1 min BL 30 min rotation (silver must be gone after 20 min, otherwise increase time) Washing 4 x 1 min FX 30 min rotation (film must be clear after 20 min, otherwise increase time) Washing 4 x 1 min Stabilizer 1 min Drying, finished. There were slight colour shifts back then, but these can be corrected to a certain extent by adjusting the pH of the CD. Rotation was slow, approx. 5 rpm. Regards, Wolfgang
