Hello everyone!
I’ve shot a few rolls of Rollei Retro 100 film without giving a second thought to how I’m going to develop them.
I’ve mixed up a bottle of ATM49 here that I’d like to use for developing. But there’s no development time listed on the packet for this film.
Can anyone help me out with the times? Has anyone had any experience developing this film?
Best regards, Max

digitaltruth states a development time of 5.75 minutes. (APX100 in A49)
My own figures... I didn’t note them down very precisely... 6 minutes at 21.5°C with agitation... but at what dilution... I’m really pleased with the results!

In my opinion, Rodinal is pretty impressive, especially with the RR100.

Is the Rollei Retro film made from APX material? I’ve just had another look in the Fotoimpex catalogue, and there’s a note about it there. In that case, I’ll use the exposure times for the APX 100 from the ATM49 pack. They should be correct, after all.

Exactly. It’s probably Agfa stock from the insolvency estate.

That’s true. But apparently the RR100 is a new, modified version of the APX that was never released under that name. Experts disagree on whether the development times for the old APX still apply; have a go at Googling it – there are loads of posts on the subject in various forums. My tip: Rodinal 1+50, 20°C, 12 minutes with 10 seconds of agitation per minute (3 times back and forth). Alternatively, take a few test shots exposed exactly like the ‘important’ films, develop them according to your estimate or the table, assess the negatives, and then develop the real ones. Anything else is pure guesswork and therefore a matter of luck.
Peter.
