bernhardmangelsgmxde I’ve just got a bit hooked on the EP312… but my supplies are slowly running out. Still, the price in the shop for the 100-sheet 18x24 pack is a bit baffling. 41.65. (“Very affordable quality paper made in England” is still what it says on the ADOX website) I bought it not too long ago for under 28. So about 50% more expensive... As an uninformed consumer, I can’t make sense of that. Is it Ilford’s fault? The price of silver? In the UK, a 100-sheet pack of Original Kentmere 8x10-inch costs the equivalent of under 32 euros. (And 8x10 inches is larger than 18x24), so roughly on a par with what the Easyprint was priced at when I last ordered. Of course, €41.65 is still cheaper than what the competition in Germany charges for the original... (I’m amazed they can get away with that anyway...) but even so, price increases of this magnitude should be communicated in some way. If it’s now more expensive than the MCP (perhaps that’s where the rub lies...), it’s no longer the ‘very affordable quality paper made in England’ that I actually bought, and somehow assumed would remain so for at least a while... (Actually, it’s not that big a deal for me personally; I’ve managed reasonably well with every type of paper so far, and given my standards and skills, it doesn’t really matter which specific paper I use. I’m also aware that setting a price isn’t just about production costs, and I have no issue with that. Still, I’m surprised... aren’t customers more sensitive about this sort of thing? I’d rather take the EP311 out of the range than have to come up with some explanation for why the cheapest paper has suddenly become a higher-priced one...)
HenningH Hi namir, Why not just buy four packs of 25 sheets... Could it be that some of the prices in the shop aren’t ‘real’ yet? Best wishes, Henning who’d like to see an ‘all’ option alongside ‘10’, ‘20’ and ‘30’...
bernhardmangelsgmxde The prices aren’t ‘real’, as is sometimes the case ;) I was positively surprised with my last order too... If I remember correctly, the Easyprint was actually even cheaper than in the catalogue... I noticed the bit about the 4-packs too... But somehow I got the impression: the first batch is partly sold out, and the next delivery won’t be available under these terms... Let’s see how things go until the shop is ‘fully up and running’... Regards Bernhard
MirkoBoeddecker Bernhard, There are two types of ADOX Easy Print. Firstly, the affordable Easy Print 311/312, ‘specially designed for the school market, etc.’, and secondly, the well-established ADOX Easy Print VARIO CLASSIC (in the range since 1992), formerly known as ‘Classic Paper’ Vario Classic PE. The latter is expensive because it is very complex to manufacture and has a very high silver content (sales figures are also modest). However, we are keeping it on the market for those customers who still work with it (particularly on the special and unique matt surface), to ensure consistency. For the sake of clarity, I will remove the “Easy Print” suffix from the Vario Classic PE in the shop. The labels differ in colour and also in design. Best regards, Mirko
bernhardmangelsgmxde I was well aware that there are two Easyprints. I was referring specifically to the one "for the school market": AEP 312 Can I take this to mean that, as it’s "from England", everything will stay the same?
MirkoBoeddecker You're right. That entry is nonsense – the paper isn't actually available in packs of 100. I've deleted it now. The British raised their prices in June. We currently have a mixed stock: 50% ordered quickly at the old price and 50% already purchased at the new price. You won’t see any of this yet. However, a moderate increase is on the cards in the coming weeks. Around 8% on average. Best regards, Mirko
