Hello, Right then, the forum is back online and running smoothly again, but I’m not entirely happy with the design and, above all, the layout just yet. Unfortunately, the security upgrade meant we lost the old skins, and there are still a few issues with the language files. As a result, the forum is now displaying English in “certain places” even though you’ve set your language to German. There are also thousands of spam posts in the gallery which, it seems, all need to be deleted manually :-( Hopefully I’ll manage to sort it all out before Photokina. Best regards, Mirko

Hi Mirko, It all looks quite nice so far. Especially the fact that it’s working again. Thanks! Now just get rid of that black tombstone-style banner, or at least make it smaller, and it’ll actually look good. If necessary, you’ll just have to revamp your company website to match the forum ;-> Best regards, Franz

Hi Franz, The black bar is the least of our worries... Our web guy is on holiday and I’m just glad I managed to sort out the updates as they are so the forum is up and running again. I don’t dare touch the PHP myself. He’ll have to sort that out next week. I stopped messing about with programming when I got to HTML and Turbo Pascal (apart from database programming). Hi Mirko, I’ve noticed two things: - The favicon is missing. (Did you perhaps forget to upload the favicon file?) - In my reply to the thread, the formatting options are a bit jumbled... and the buttons aren’t visible. (Firefox 3.01 – Windows XP – 1024x768) Regards, Stähane

Franz, everyone, this is the only quick fix for now. Everything seems to be working so far. I might remove the flashing buttons on the homepage, although they only flash when there’s something new to read, which isn’t actually a bad thing in itself... After Photokina, we’ll also be making other display options available. If you find all this a bit too fussy (in terms of appearance), you can switch to ‘simple mode’ at the bottom of the homepage (simplified display). The pages will then load without images and will also be faster. Best regards, Mirko

Hi Andreas, Hmm, it was actually meant to be sand-coloured, but as I said, that’s not my preferred look either. After the trade fair, we’ll try to offer some alternative designs. Best regards, Mirko
