Hello, I developed my first sheets of IMAGO Positive Paper today. I used the Ilford Obscura and performed an exposure of 3.5 minutes in sunlight. The result is a bit disappointing, as the edges have turned grey. In theory, the edges are covered and should be a deep black. Do you have any experience with this? I developed them in (not entirely fresh) Neutol Eco for 5 minutes. Which developer would you recommend, and should I adjust the development times? THANKS!
Florek
Hi Olaf,
A year ago, I managed to take some 4x5 shots using just a few sheets of IMAGO Pos. Paper. My first attempts went completely wrong until I switched off the DuKa lighting completely (including when loading the cassette). I developed the film using Moersch Eco paper developer.
Please let me know if you’ve had any success; perhaps I’ll give it another go then.
Best regards, Florian

I’ve finally got round to doing a bit of experimenting.
?
To work out the development time, I cut up an unexposed sheet (which should turn black) and developed it for 30, 60 and 90 seconds in fresh Adotol.
At 90 seconds, the density was already rich, but I developed a sheet exposed in the Obscura (60 seconds in bright sunlight) for 2 minutes. I would describe the development as perfect,
though the exposure time could have been a touch longer. I carried out the entire processing of the IMAGO paper, from loading it into the camera to fixing, in total darkness.
The paper seems to be very sensitive to red light. I loaded the first sheets into the changing bag in bright sunlight. Light in the red or infrared
spectrum probably does penetrate the fabric after all; the images were very flat. So it’s better to load the camera in complete darkness or in a shaded spot, as Florian already noted.

Otherwise, it’s a visually stunning material; unfortunately, due to its low speed, it’s only of limited use for pinhole cameras (exposure times sometimes exceeding 1 hour).
Unfortunately, I can’t upload any sample images at the moment; my scanner isn’t up to scratch...
