A question for Mirko, Your old website stated that the efke 25 and 50 had a speed of 50 and 100 ISO respectively when developed in D76. The table in the catalogue doesn’t mention this for D76. Is this information no longer up to date?

Since the last bags of active gelatin from Heilbronn were used up in 2002, the speed of the 25 and 50 films has, unfortunately, no longer exceeded the nominal speed. In some developers, they still climb to plus 1/2 stop, but not in D76. However, I cannot recall ever having specified N+1 for D76. Was this perhaps mentioned in some specific context (e.g. reversal processing), or were there two D76 times and one was for +1? Best regards, Mirko

Thanks for the info, Mirko. The N+1 speed is listed on the old website under ‘Data’ and then on the pages for KB 25 and KB 50. There’s a development chart there, and it’s stated in the text as well. If this is supposed to refer to reversal development or something similar (is R 25 a reversal film?), it certainly isn’t clear. However, given how it’s described, that can’t actually be the case. I haven’t developed any efke KB 50 in D76 yet, but I still have two rolls of efke KB 50 and would therefore be interested to know whether this was correct for the old efke films. Wilfried

Hi Mirko, Have you had a look at the old FOTOIMPEX website regarding speed in D76? I’d be interested to know if that information is correct for the old Efkes. Wilfried

Hello, you can find the old pages here. What about developers with high sensitivity, such as Neofin? Should I assume a sensitivity of 50 ASA for the 50 film, or would 80–100 ASA be more suitable (as I’ve been happy with those so far...)? Best regards Henning
