Registered users can post on the Photo Lab forum.
We welcome new members. However, due to the large number of spammers, all new accounts must first be approved by me.
Depending on how busy I am (or whether I happen to be travelling without internet access), this can sometimes take a few days.
Of course, once you’ve registered, you’ll want to start posting straight away. That’s understandable. That’s (probably) why you registered in the first place.
Unfortunately, I must ask you to be patient.
I usually approve a new account within three days at the latest. Until then, despite having registered, you’ll see an error message stating that you don’t have permission to post.
Anyone who comes up with a ‘strange’ username and doesn’t have a recognisably German email address will slip through the net and be deleted by me. The programme will then say ‘User unknown’ when you try to log in.
In this case, please register again and provide a username or email address that allows me to recognise that you are not a spammer.
For example, if you have the email address paul.mueller@t-online.de, you’ll be accepted straight away. But if you have val32@googlemail.com, you’ll need to call yourself something like “RodinalRolf” or “Handentwickler” or something similar so that I can tell it’s genuine.
I hope you understand. The alternative would be a photo post buried under 200 ads for sexual enhancement pills.
The current ratio is about 1:20. One genuine user for every 20 spam registrations.
Best regards,
Mirko
EDIT 1 April 2013: The ratio is currently 1:100. The spam bots have found us!
I’m doing what I can, but I can’t spot the weird names and they slip through!!
