Hello everyone, Does anyone here have any experience with using Ilford Delta 3200 in Adox A49 stock solution (no dilution)? I’d like to give this combination a go and would like to save myself some effort if anyone has any experience with it. I’ve of course already checked the Digitaltruth table...... The true speed of this film is below 800 ASA, so the values listed there for the film at 3200 ASA are completely unrealistic! With ID-11, I achieved around 28 DIN at normal contrast with this film at 12 minutes and 24 degrees Celsius. So I’m interested in negatives with normal contrast, from which you can actually make analogue prints....! If anyone could contribute anything here, I’d be very grateful. Kind regards, Tom-W.

Hello, I have no experience with the combination of Ilford Delta 3200 and ADOX A49. I can’t confirm your findings regarding Ilford Delta 3200 in ID-11! I’ve always followed Ilford’s instructions when processing. You can find sample images in my gallery of photos from Ireland (e.g. the windmill) Regards, Edi.

19 minutes on A49 1+1 at 21°. That gives an exposure of around 1000 ASA. I’d have to have a look first to find some sample images, though. Regards, Sven.

According to the data sheet, the Delta 3200 should be developed for 12–14 minutes in the stock solution, with 12 minutes recommended for condenser enlargers and 14 minutes for mixed-light enlargers. To be on the safe side, I’d start with 12 minutes; if the film turns out too soft, you can always compensate slightly by using a harder gradient during enlargement.

But not at 3200 ASA, rather at around 1000 ASA. I’ve extrapolated my times from the data in the datasheet on a 1+1 basis and added a little extra, so that I’m working with mixed light at a grade of 2.5 to 3. Regards, Sven.
