Hi Mirko,
The Federal Republic of Germany hasn't existed since around 1989. You can just write 'Germany'. :)

The abbreviation ‘BRD’ was always used by East Berlin as a symbolic distinction from the ‘DDR’ abbreviation. This was particularly because Bonn always acted in the belief that it was the only legitimate German state and therefore also claimed the term ‘Germany’ for itself.
Whilst the term “BRD” had become established in East German usage, it was and remains uncommon in the Federal Republic (and officially undesirable).
In West Germany, the term “BRD” used to appear frequently in far-left publications – likely in an effort to distance themselves from the state and out of solidarity with their East German comrades.
This raises the question, to be discussed below, of whose tradition Comrade Bödecker follows and what influence this has on the dispatch of photochemical products.

The things you come across.
Well, the reason why ‘BRD’ appears in the delivery terms goes back to the first order form from 1991. Back then, photocopies were still very expensive and we wanted to fit as much as possible on the page, so we needed an abbreviation.
For me, BRD is simply the abbreviation for the Federal Republic of Germany, without any political connotations whatsoever.
But before any political wars of ideology flare up here, I’ll quickly change that and close the thread.
Thanks for the tip.
Best regards,
Mirko
