Hello everyone,
Does anyone know this paper (Varycon by Efke)? What can you tell me about it? I’ve been offered 300 sheets of 24/30, about 6 years old. What do you think?

Hello Hanspeter,
I used to work with that a few years ago (it was sold under the Amaloco brand). It’s a lovely paper, but after six years it’s almost certainly gone soft as a rag and flattened.
If you do decide to buy it (which I wouldn’t recommend): make sure you use red light!

(Once I’d opened the card, I was sure it was Franz B.) I wonder why professional photographers who claim they’re only switching away from analogue now because of their age have so much paper in stock that ends up becoming nicely soft, or rather soft to extra-soft. I’m not familiar with it, so I didn’t know anything about how it behaves over time.
