Hello everyone,
I have a Magnifax 4 and am struggling with severe vignetting. This happens when using the 35mm condenser and a 50mm Componon-S lens. The difference in brightness between the centre and the edges is easily half a stop, if not more.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
The alignment of the enlarger looks fine so far, at least according to the spirit level. There’s also a 150W opal lamp inside and the condensers are in the right place. I’m not aware of any other adjustment options.
What now?
Thanks for any help!!
Regards
Timo

Hi Timo,
The opal lamp may need to be adjusted in height (distance from the condenser).

At what aperture do you take the measurement?

Good morning,
First of all, thanks for the replies. Adjusting the lamp sounds like a good idea, but I can’t find any adjustment options on it. The socket where the bulb is screwed in seems to be fixed.
Mirko, I usually zoom in at f/5.6, which is two stops down.
Regards
Timo
