Ilford has significantly expanded its range of sheet film formats. From today (18 April 2007), FP4 and HP5 are available in sizes up to 50x60 cm (20x24") and are listed in the catalogue (page 12). FP4 pack sizes: 9x12 cm/25 4x5"/25 5x7"/25 13x18cm/25 8x10"/25 10x12"/25 11x14"/25 12x20"/25 20x24"/25 Contents of HP5: 9x12cm/25 4x5"/25 5x7"/25 8x10"/25 10x12 "/25 11x14"/25 12x20"/25 Best regards, Mirko

HP 5 in 13x18 isn't any good? Do I really have to go and buy American 5x7" cassettes? When I've got loads of European 13x18 cassettes...

Samuli, Kodak cuts its films ‘between the tolerances’. In other words, of the 2 mm difference between 13x18 and 5x7, they go to the upper limit for 5x7 and thus end up at the lower limit for 13x18, with the result that the film often fits both formats. Perhaps this works for Ilford films as well. Unfortunately, however, we cannot accept returns of opened packs if Ilford handles this differently. Best regards, Mirko

That gives me hope. Forum members, does anyone have an Ilford 5x7 negative lying about that they could measure with a ruler? My Fidelity cassettes seem to have a bit of leeway, but I’d still rather be sure before I buy a pack. Best regards, Samuli
