Edit: To be more precise: top up to 1 litre instead of 1 kg.
I did write that! Although that doesn’t result in a 10% solution. It’s not 10% by volume, nor is it 10% by mass. But it’s accurate enough.
And I had written that and also told the OP how to make a 10% solution by mass using household ingredients.
The basic problem with many of these questions is a simple one: people know roughly that a litre of water weighs about a kilo. But they don’t know how much the added weight amounts to, so they start pondering. And then, feeling unsure, they ask for clarification.
So here are my foolproof instructions based on mass. And a note (for non-critical farmers) on the less precise method. This is also acceptable for fixers, sulphite farmers, etc. For example, when making your own developer, but potentially fatal (especially as I give these in mol/l and thus chemically correct).
Best regards,
Franz
