Hello. Is it possible to adjust the frame spacing on the Kiev 60 yourself? On my test roll, I got 13 frames, but there are overlaps of up to 3 mm. I’d prefer to have 12 frames, but with dividing lines between them. Thanks

It’s possible. If you’re a bit handy with camera mechanics: http://kievaholic.com/kiev60kalibration.html Otherwise, I’d recommend the following method: place a small strip of cardboard on the take-up spool; this will make the film roll thicker from the start and restore the correct spacing. Right then, I’ll give the cardboard strip a go. Now that I’m looking at my test roll, I can see that the overlaps get smaller towards the end of the film. Would it help to turn the mark on the roll film further to the right, rather than stopping at the ‘Kiev 60’ mark?

Hi, Here’s another method that should work: - Load the film and fast-forward to the start mark - Close the camera and advance the film twice - Unlock the back cover and open it slightly (the counter will reset; the film won’t receive any exposure as there’s still enough backing paper) - Close it again and advance the film twice more - The film is now at frame 1, but the counter is two frames ahead (so frame 10 would actually be frame 12) - Advance the film as normal to the end and remove it With this method, I get 13 frames on the film and I always have nice, even spacing – without any overlap and regardless of the film type. I’ll have to give that a go. Someone else gave me a tip about not winding the film all the way up on the Pentacon SIX, and then winding it a bit more. I’m curious to see how my test films turn out. I’ll give your tip a go as well, though. Thanks
