Hello,
The base of Ilford HP 5 must be grey, mustn’t it? Because on www.schwarzweissdia.de (Mr Wehner’s reversal process) it says that trials are also underway to develop HP 5 using the new reversal process. However, slides on film with grey bases aren’t exactly great.

Hello,
I was just wondering why Mr Wehner writes on his website www.schwarzweissdia.de that he is currently experimenting with HP5, and that he otherwise promotes the fact that his process has very good D min and D max values. Because if the HP5 is slightly greenish, as I recall, then those excellent D min values aren’t really worth much anymore.
At the moment, I mostly use Fomapan R for reversal processing, followed by Agfa Scala. It also works with the R3 from Rollei, though I still need to optimise the process a bit. For chemicals, I use the Fomakit, which has the major advantage over Kodak’s in that the working solutions are always freshly prepared for the films being processed, and I find the price of this set absolutely fine.
