Hi Johannes,
That’s certainly an interesting question :-) Apparently, there are even people who claim that Moersch paper, Bergger paper and a ‘genuine’ Fotokemika paper could all be identical.
What I didn’t make quite clear in the Parallel forum: no expert will ever give you an *exact* answer to that. You’d have the confirmed knowledge and we’d be facing a lawsuit.
Hmm. Moersch paper = Bergger paper = ADOX paper = Varycon = Maco paper... That’s just five papers where you’d only need to adjust your processes *slightly* when testing them... assuming the same development conditions. My roll of ADOX Vario Classic took a while before it became identical not only chemically but also photographically to four other papers available on the market. Mirko has a slightly closer line of communication with the manufacturer when it comes to custom orders and sold us this special request quickly and with relatively little fuss.
Others lag behind and sell ‘mature’ (in my humble opinion, on the verge of expiry) stock. Moersch doesn’t do that; my experience with them has been excellent.
Best regards,
Franz
