Christoph Hello, Has anyone ever cross-processed Ortho film as transparency? I’d be interested to know what the results are like, as Ortho film produces extremely steep curves when used as negative film without a special developer. The red-blindness effect could produce some really interesting results. And Ortho films do have a clear base, after all. Perhaps someone here can help me out. Best regards, Chris
MirkoBoeddecker I think Wehner offers that service. We also use Wehner and send in films once every fortnight. If you want to do it yourself, all you really need to do is change the primary developer. Best regards, Mirko
Christoph Thanks! I came across Wehner’s website a while ago. Now I’ve read that FOTOIMPEX sends films to Wehner every fortnight. How much does a 35mm slide development cost? And which films does he offer this service for? It sounds interesting. Best regards, Chris
cfb_de Hi Christoph, If you’re also considering self-treatment, have a look in the relevant forums (it’s been mentioned here too :-) or online magazines for the article “Kehret um” by Roman and Michael. It’s the most frequently cited article on the field of reversal processing over the last two and a half years. Unlike a lot of the hot air spouted by manufacturers and marketers, this one actually works and is based on scientifically substantiated experience. You’ll find it quite quickly on Google by searching for “AGFA Scala at home”. Best regards, Franz
Christoph Hi Franz, Thanks. I’m already familiar with the article, and I develop Agfa Scala and Fomapan R myself. I’ve also had a go with the Rollei R3 and would like to fine-tune this film a bit further. I’d just be interested to see how it turns out with an orthochromatic film. Best regards, Christoph
