Hi,
Is Rodinol still available, and is it the same as the Rodinol that was available before Agfa closed down?

Yes, it is still available, and the product manufactured by A&O (the company that bought the Agfa chemical plant) is exactly the same.
Unfortunately, Maco now holds the exclusive distribution rights, and prices doubled overnight, as if by magic...
Ask him why. It’s not for me to comment on that.
We have some stock left over from the latest orders and, as an alternative, we also offer ADOX APH 09.
This product produces the same image characteristics as Rodinal but differs slightly in terms of dilution and development times.
It is based on the original pre-WWII Rodinal formula and is much more attractively priced (around €12 plus VAT for 1 litre of concentrate).
Regards,
Mirko

Mirko,
almost all of the former Agfa chemical products are available from Vaihingen. *Without* any issues regarding one small business in Stapelfeld. They shout loudly, but keep falling short when it comes to the nitty-gritty.
Mirko, you deal with them. Okay. It’s your business.
I accept that you’re involved in their sales. Okay. But: They don’t have a USP when it comes to selling Agfa photo chemicals; they don’t have exclusive marketing rights. It’s just one of Hartmuth’s marketing tales (of mystery and imagination;-).
Okay, even Hartmuth needs money to make a living.
Regards,
Franz
