I found the following statement on an English website (www.thedarkroom.co.uk):
"It is not well known that the Meopta Anaret S lenses are optically identical to the Componar S range, and indeed are made on the same production line, although they are sold at a lower price."
Is that true?

I can’t give you a definitive answer just yet, but they do look very, very similar, and their technical specifications are virtually identical across the board. I’d be quite surprised if they didn’t come off the same production line.
I don’t know whether there are any minor differences in technical details or tolerances, but I can’t imagine there are in this price range.
