Hi everyone,
I’m an active user of my Opemus 6.
I use it for 35mm and also 6x6.
The problem is with the film holder. The opening isn’t full-frame. In other words, the aperture of the mask is about 54x54 mm. Unfortunately, there’s no way to fix this, as that’s just how the whole thing is designed. Question: is there a film stage for the Opemus 6 that allows full-frame printing (with the nice film border)?
Or how do you get round this?
Thanks for your reply.

We offer Opemus plastic stages for this purpose.
You can find them in the catalogue under Meopta spare parts.
The plastic can easily be filed down to a maximum size of 70x70.

You can file down the metal too. It’s actually easier than plastic, because it’s a bit sturdier.

Thanks, Mirko, and thanks, Franz
Now I just have to make up my mind :-)
All right.

Franz,
How did you manage to remove the lower level and the sliding masks without the stage wobbling or the light scattering?
Are you sure you’re not confusing that with the insert masks?
Those are easy to file down, but that only works with the Magnifax, as the hole in the stage on the Opemus is simply too small.

Hi Mirko,
The metal 5-frame hive was a perfect fit. There were no issues with the frame covers.
For the 6-frame hive, I cut the frame covers to size. No problems at all.
I bought both stages from you, and most of the insert masks as well. You didn’t have the 24x24 and 13x17 sizes, did you (our phone call in 2003; yes, I take notes during phone calls – an old habit from my days as a self-employed person).
Best regards,
Franz
