Hello everyone!
I’ve got hold of an ADOX CMS 20 to test out and so far I’m really impressed with the film (sharpness, contrast, grey tones, etc.)
But now comes the big problem:
There are lots of white (!!!), irregular spots on the negatives. Some of them are quite large. And I don’t know what they are or where they’re coming from... :-(((
They look too irregular and, in some cases, too large to be pinholes.
I’ve had this problem before with another documentary film (Gigabitfilm) and couldn’t find a solution then either.
Does anyone have any ideas?
At least I now know that you can remove the spots from the film very effectively in Photoshop...

Hi Mirko!
> Could these be the dreaded limescale stains?
What are their tell-tale signs?
I don’t think they’re limescale stains. The wheels are simply too sharp.
I also prepared all the chemicals using distilled water. Washing was done with tap water, and the wetting agent bath (1–3 minutes) was then again with distilled water. I can’t see any deposits or anything like that on the surface either.
I’m guessing it’s either the stop bath (pinholes after all?) or the fixer (too highly concentrated and fixed for too long – 3 minutes)...
Where can I find more information about the limescale stains?
