Hello forum members, I’d like to process the film mentioned above as a slide, but I don’t have the time for development, etc., or fixing. I’m using the Foma slide kit. Can anyone help me? Many thanks – Dieter Hausner

Hi Dieter, Unfortunately, I don’t have a set time either, but if you’d like to test it, it would be enough to determine the initial development time for the film using the developer supplied. The initial developer is Fomatol LQN (which you can also buy separately from us). The Cube has the same development time as the R3. I therefore estimate that the initial development time will be around 10 minutes. If you’re from Berlin, I’d be happy to send you two Cube films and a bottle of LQN if you could post the test results here on the forum afterwards. Best regards, Mirko

Hi, I’ve got some rough figures for the R3 in the Fomasatz. But I don’t want to spoil the deal for Dieter, so I won’t put them in for now. As I said, they’re just rough figures; I still need to do another 1 or 2 tests to be absolutely sure. Best regards, Chris

Hello, The Rollei R3 is rated at around 100 ISO. The initial development time is approximately 14 minutes (the Fomapan R takes 12 minutes). The R3 should be pre-soaked; I did this for 3 minutes. Agitation rhythm: all straps continuously for the first minute, then once every 10 seconds. Fixing: The R3 data sheet states that it takes a little longer to fix, so I fixed it for 6 minutes instead of 4. The base has come out wonderfully clear. The PET base doesn’t seem to be bad either. I used the film as 35mm; there were no problems in the camera or when loading it into the canister... I’ll (if I have time) test this further so that I have an alternative to Fomapan R, as that has often been unavailable in the past. If I have plenty of time, I’d also like to do some tests with the Rollei Infrared. Chris
