Good morning, I’ve ordered some ADOX Variotone Premium – Natural Gloss (Baryta) / 13x18 from FOTOIMPEX. I’ve previously printed on PE paper, so I’m unsure about the development, fixing and rinsing times. I’d be very grateful if you could let me know these times. Is the following procedure feasible? After rinsing, should I place them on a cloth (image side up) and later, whilst they are still damp, put them in the press with the image side facing the cloth? I have no idea what temperatures and times to use for the drying process. As there are 20 prints, all enlarged using the same process, the next steps need to be carried out promptly. Thanks for the tip. I get on very well with PE / RC papers. But when it comes to baryta papers, I’ve got some catching up to do, particularly regarding drying times. I’d particularly like to find out the times for the baryta press. Everyone seems to say something different :-) ? Regards, Ralle

You don’t necessarily have to heat-dry them. Air-dried baryta papers have a wonderful natural sheen that’s reminiscent of leather, and I prefer it to any high-gloss finish – it’s absolutely elegant.
