Dear friends of black-and-white photography, € After much hard work, the fineartforum programme is now finalised. It is available online from today. Registration is required for most workshops, as places are limited. € Registration is now open; places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Thanks to the voluntary work of a large number of helpers and supporters, participation in the fineartforum is free of charge. Dear friends of beautiful images, I am delighted to announce a new highlight for the fineartforum: € [size=8]Christian Weigang presents his project "Instant-Lith-CO"! [/size] Participants in the fineartforum are invited to get actively involved in this form of image-making using a pinhole camera. The results will be one-of-a-kind pieces. Together, we will conduct the exposure of black-and-white photographic paper in a camera obscura. Our aim is to produce a right-side-up positive at the location where the photograph is taken. Will this also work as a lith print? Join us as we follow “Instant-Lith-CO” on its journey from concept to photographic practice. Saturday and Sunday, several times a day; times to be announced; meeting point: “Neue Mitte” € [size=8]Lecture: The Evolution of the Perception of Images – Photosophy from the Big Bang to the Present [/size] Christian Weigang, Studio, Sunday 2.00 pm Christian Weigang aims to inspire enthusiasm for one’s own images. The diversity of image-making, embracing it, and the courage to develop one’s own visual signature with lasting resonance are particularly important. The latter, of course, occasionally clashes with the spirit of the times, which is why he presents the topic in a manner that is both provocative and witty. € Christian Weigang (1962) has been photographing exclusively with pinhole cameras for over ten years, in all formats from 35mm to 50x60 cm and, as part of a team, up to 250x250 cm. His speciality is life-size 1:1 portraits, which are developed on site in daylight and contact-printed in the camera. The camera obscuras (CO) used are designed, engineered and, in most cases, built by the artist himself. The apertures are optimised for minimal vignetting or maximum sharpness, depending on the subject or project. A wide variety of processes are brought together, thereby pushing the boundaries of image-making. If you’re wondering what to get up to this coming weekend, I’d like to remind you once again about the 7th fineartforum. A trip to Paderborn from 4 to 6 November 2016 will definitely be well worth it! € We’ve once again put together an interesting and varied programme centred on analogue black-and-white photography. Admission and participation are free of charge. In addition, there is an excellent photography exhibition by Wolfgang Bartels from Hanover on display. There will be coffee and cake, grilled sausages at lunchtime, and the chance to go out for dinner together in the evening. € It promises to be a relaxed yet informative weekend. The 7th fineartforum came to a close yesterday evening. Once again, a very big thank you to all the speakers and workshop leaders. Everything went very well and we received a very positive response from all visitors. € Organising an event of this kind is very labour-intensive.
