Hello everyone,
Now that APX 400 has been discontinued, I’ve gone and treated myself to a smart beechwood box of roll films. The material is said to be made from the raw material used for 35mm film, so it is thicker than standard roll film. After using the wetting agent, the films become extremely warped, meaning they cannot be scanned, nor do they lie reasonably flat in glassless enlarger frames. What can be done about this (apart from returning the films as quickly as possible)?

I don’t know how the Retro 400 performs with roll film, but I can’t imagine you’d be able to keep a roll film reasonably flat without a glass plate, at least when shooting from a raised platform.

In any case, Rollei Retro 100 roll film doesn’t curl as much as, say, ADOX R50.
Glass bases really should be standard, at least for medium format – I agree with Hanspeter on that.
Best regards,
Markus

Well, I can't really say that. My Rollei Retro MF films don't curl up that much.
Anyway, at least a glass cover is a must at the top!

Martin
