I found a 0.25-litre bottle of Ultrafin liquid yesterday. It had already been opened – I think I used it to develop two rolls of film at some point. I bought the chemical about two years ago. I usually bin stuff this old, but I thought I’d ask the group what you think: use it or bin it?
Visually, the liquid is still clear and not as yellow as it usually is when it’s been left to oxidise for a long time.

Hi M,
There are two options:
- Try it out with a small piece of test film
- Throw it away
Since – given that two samples have already been taken – there won’t be much left after the test film anyway: save yourself the effort and expense of checking it and just bin it straight away.
